Gregg Cagno and friends

About
A native of Clinton, NJ, Gregg Cagno now makes his home in Winston-Salem, NC. His songwriting is documented across four albums, work that has earned him two ASCAP awards. Over the years, he has had the opportunity to open for legendary artists such as Pete Seeger, James Taylor, America & Poco. Gregg’s music has brought him from the Kennedy Center’s Millennium Stage, to a recent appearance on The Martha Bassett Show and to festivals and venues across the country.
Cagno's clear, warm baritone and effortless phrasing convey themes of joy, wit, and love without pretense. His smooth, melodic guitar work utilizes a wide palette of colorful open tunings. His song 'Backroad Driver' was featured on NPR’s Car Talk, and 'In Her Own Eyes' is permanently archived in the Smithsonian Folkways Recordings with the FAST FOLK catalogue. His recent single, ‘In Space,’ co-written with David Wilcox, explores humanity's ongoing quest for extraterrestrial intelligence and the implications of the lack of contact encountered so far.
